In practical harvesting applications, the square bales have the great advantage over their round counterparts that they can be stacked much better and thus stored in a space-saving way. Square bales can be 80 cm to 1.2 m wide, their height can vary between 50 cm and 1.30 m. Due to the fact that the crop is compressed more in square bales, the weight of these bales is higher than that of round bales. For this reason, square bales are preferably loaded or transported with a front loader due to their weight and the powerful dimensions.
