The Zero is a simple and powerful 32-bit extension of the UN-created platform. The Zero-Board extends the family through increased performance, enables a variety of project possibilities for devices and serves as a great teaching tool for learning the development of 32-bit applications. Zero applications range from intelligent IoT devices, wearable technology, high-tech automation to crazy robotics. The board is powered by the SAMD21 MCU from Atmel, which has a 32-bit ARM Cortex® M0+ Kern. One of the most important functions is Atmel's Embedded Debugger (EDBG), which provides a complete debug interface without additional hardware, thus significantly increasing the user-friendliness of software debugging. EDBG also supports a virtual COM port that can be used for device and boot loader programming. Caution! Unlike most Arduino and Genuine boards, the zero runs at 3.3 V. The maximum voltage that the I/O pins can tolerate is 3.3 V. The addition of 3.3 V to any I/O pin could damage the board. The board contains everything was needed to support the microcontroller; simply connect it to a computer with a micro USB cable or supply it with an AC/DC adapter or battery to get started. The Zero is compatible with all shields that operate at 3.3V and conform to Arduino pin assignment 1.0.
