Description

The Joy-Car is an autonomous micro:bit-based educationrobot and offers an extensive platform for entering the subject areas of robotics, electronics and programming. It is already assembled (including micro:bit V2) and is ready for use immediately. Thanks to the programming-friendly BBC micro:bit, the Joy Car is already suitable from an age of 8 years, but is also interesting for older young people and electronics-enthusiastic adults due to its rich sensor equipment.Sensors such as line tracking, ultrasonic, infrared and wheel speed sensors enable functions such as autonomous driving and even control via BT via a second, separate micro:bit. The additional equipment simulates indicators, light, reversing light and horn and thus rounds off the experience of an autonomous robot car. By the use of addressable LEDs, individual lighting scenarios can also be realized.A small "highlight" is the motorized ultrasonic sensor, with the help of which the Joy-Car looks to the left and right, in order to determine the best way (naturally it flashes then, before it bends and continues to drive). The 77-page manual (available in German and English) not only explains the design of the robot. All components, sensors, electronics and motors are easy to understand in their functionexplained.Programming can be done in MakeCode or MicroPhyton and is described in detail. The Joy-Car has already been used in various classrooms and has been tested accordingly. Through its extensive and versatile functions, which are taken up in the instructions and explained attractively, the Joy-Car can be used in different teaching formats. The topics of computer science, physics or robotics do not come too short! On the homepage of the same name, specially created for the Joy-Car, further information, tips, programming examples and a forum for questions, problems and ideas are offered.
