Description
Homematic IP window/door contact is a part of the Homematic IP smart home system and reliably monitors a door or window.
For this purpose, the window contact relies on an innovative optical sensor. This makes an additional magnetic contact unnecessary and reduces the installation expenses. The built-in infrared light barrier detects immediately whether the window is opened or closed and transmits this information to the system. The design "plus" enables a maintenance-free operation by accepting two AAA batteries, which provide for an especially long battery life of typically four years.
The sensor takes over several tasks in combination with other Homematic IP devices. Firstly, it causes the heat to automatically lower the flow through a Homematic IP radiator thermostat when there is air. On the other hand, it reliably monitors the access to its own four walls. If a window or door is opened in activated protective mode, the window contact triggers an alarm with the free Homematic IP APP. This allows the user to react immediately in case of an emergency. When using an Homematic IP siren, a loud signal is also sounded, which can scare off the unwanted intruder.

Operation requires connection to one of the following solutions:
- Homematic IP Access Point with free smartphone app and free cloud service
- Central CCU3 with local WebUI user interface
- Third-party partner solutions.
Can be used simultaneously in different application areas (room climate and safety):
- During ventilation, the room temperature is automatically lowered in conjunction with the Homematic IP radiator thermostat
- If desired, alarm can be triggered, e.g. in combination with the Homematic IP siren, as soon as a window or door is opened.
Caution: This product is no longer compatible with the CCU2 control panel
