Description

Electric locomotive 185 077 of the German RailwaysDB Cargo's order for 200 such units was the main drive for the development of the TRAXX AC1, as the Locomotive Type was referred to retroactively in 2003. TRAXX stands for "Transnational Railway Applications with extreme flexibility". The locomotive, directly derived from the 145 series now in a modified design and serial number, was now used for both common AC voltage systems in Europe 15 kV/16 2/3 Hz and 25 kV/ 50 Hz. At a weight of 84 t, it has 5.6 MW continuous power and is approved for 140 km/h.
