Description
In the 1960s, August Alborn's forwarding agency knew who to rely on! Faun and Scheuerle were the first addresses when it came to powerful solutions for heavy transport. Accordingly, the towing vehicle and low-loader drove to the Alborn fleet early on and were reliable companions for many years in the countless transport tasks that the specialists took with their heavy transports from the Dortmund family headquarters. For the driver behind the steering wheel of the Faun 610/36 it took some getting used to driving powerful goods over the asphalt with the bonnet extending far forward and the large Scheuerle low-loader. An impressive 80 tons could be kept on the go with the thundering Deutz machine. The model of this low-loader was part of the production program since the 1950s – the last Scheuerle types only expired in the 1980s. The attached low-loader consists of four assemblies – the drawbar, the two five-meter-long chassis and the transport bed between them. This is the wing that can handle 50 tons of payload on the prototype. The 72-ton low-loader with a full load is approved in the fast-forward version for 62 km/h. With a length of over 18 meters and a width of 2.75 meters, it was necessary to have a strong tractor such as the one of the fans. Very often heavy excavators and caterpillars, transformers, as well as heavy machines were transported for the road.
