The device detects open and short-circuited (wire/wire or wire/shield) connections
A two-line display (LEDs) shows sequentially which pin of the RJ-45 plug of cable end A is connected to which pin of the RJ-45 plug of cable end B; a manual or automatic switching is possible. In the event of a short circuit, more than two LEDs light up at the same time
The device has two RJ-45 sockets (e.g. for testing patch cables); with the enclosed remote unit, cables laid in the wall can also be tested
Two adapter cables (BNC/RJ-45) are included for testing coaxial cables
With the enclosed PoE check, it can be tested whether PoE is present on a twisted pair cable and, if necessary, which PoE mode (A = endspan / B = midspan)
