Can Ethernet Gateway
In gateway mode, the CAN@net II/Generic is connected to a PC or controller platform via TCP/IP. The application program on the host communicates over a standard TCP/IP socket and uses a simple ASCII protocol. The CAN@net II/Generic thus provides a simple and flexible access to CAN systems via a LAN or via the Internet as a CAN Ethernet gateway.
Can Ethernet CAN Bridge
A CAN Ethernet CAN bridge can be implemented using two CAN@net II/Generic. This bridge enables the exchange of CAN messages between two CAN systems via TCP/IP, whereby filter tables can be stored.
The configuration of the TCP/IP communication parameters is done conveniently via a PC tool with automatic device recognition. The web server implemented on the CAN@net II/Generic is used to configure the bridge function and to set the CAN configuration parameters.
