The Toyota Celica GT-Four RC was developed as a homologation car for the participation in global rally races and 5,000 units were sold worldwide in 1992. This car, with its curved, powerful body, had a 2-liter turbo engine with metal turbines and water-based charge air cooler system, which produced 235 hp. The 4WD system used a mid-sized Visco clutch and a rear torsen differential for excellent control and traction. At global rally races in 1993, the Celica GT-Four for Toyota (ST185) brought both the manufacturer's and driver's championships for the first time.
The proven TT-02 chassis serves as the basis for the 58724 Tamiya model in the scale 1:10. With this wheel base, ground clearance, track and gear ratio are adjustable in many ways and with the innumerable optional tuning parts the chassis can quickly become a racer. The 4WD drive with central shaft, double wishbones and struts on all four wheels ensure authentic driving behavior and great traction. The chassis base is designed to be extra smooth and the battery compartment takes up all common types of batteries. Optical highlight are the wheel drivers who have scheduled brake disc dummies.
