Description

Open source hardware manufacturer Radxa has developed Radxa Zero, a board with a zero form factor. The Radxa Zero is equipped with an Amlogic S905Y2, which brings along four up to 1.8 GHz fast computing cores. It is also available with various RAM and eMMC memory.Radxa Zero specificationsThe Radxa zero-form factor board is based on a quad-cortex A53 CPU that operates at a frequency of 1.8 GHz. It uses eMMC 5.1 and a microSD card for storage purposes. Radxa Zero includes a Mali G31 MP2 GPU and LPDDR4 RAM. The Arm Mali-G31 GPU is an ultra-efficient GPU based on Mali Bifrost architecture. The connection of external storage media can also take place via USB 2.0.The 65 x 30 millimeter large and only 5 mm high board can output picture contents easily via micro-HDMI. It also supports the output of 4K content with a refresh rate of 60 Hz. The linking to a wireless network is done via WiFi 802.11 b/g/n or 802.11 n/g/n/ac.For connecting with other peripherals there is a 40-pin Expansion slot available (1 x UART, 2 x SPI Bus, 2x I2C Bus, 1 x PCM/I2S, 1 x SPDIF, 1 x PWM, 1 x ADC, 6 x GPIO). Radxa Zero has two onboard USB ports, one USB 2.0 Type C OTG and the other as a USB 3.0 Type C host. In addition, the board uses H.265/VP9 for video encoding and decoding purposes. Moreover, the Crypto engine supports an external antenna and other peripheral devices are available at the push of a button. Radxa Zero communicates wirelessly via WiFi 5 and Bluetooth® 5.0 (BLE).
