Based on a real truck
After the war, the Englebert tires of the former Belgian manufacturer came from Aachen Rothe Erde – at numerous German gas stations, the blue enamel plates were denounced in the seventies. Wiking is now recalling the large, long-gone tire manufacturer of the economic miracle years, who had once entered into a cooperation with the American company Goodrich and for a short time became known as the Uniroyal Englebert brand. When it was only called Uniroyal in 1967 and the European part of Uniroyal was integrated into the Continental Group in 1979, it was finally around the Englebert brand – it fell victim to market concentration. Review: In the fifties, the purchasers at Englebert in Aachen showed patriotic fidelity to the Rhineland homeland. They ordered FK 1000, which was the first van to run off the belt in nearby Cologne. Wiking connoisseurs are experiencing a Déjà vu with the Englebert van: At that time, in cooperation with Wiking, an unglassed truck trailer was created – also a Ford, then of the type 3500. Later, a second advertising model based on the Mercedes-Benz Pullman semitrailer followed.
Body upper section, light blue, body lower section light gray. Chassis and interior with steering wheel in black-gray. Transparent front lights, red-transparent tail lights. Front and rear-sided type lettering as well as the logo on the front in silver. Window molding as well as door handles and grille in silver. Lateral multi-colored Englebert advertising motif.
Accurate miniature scale model for grown-up collectors.
