Spectrum PC / PTFE is an advanced composite filament based on polycarbonate (PC) with the addition of PTFE, commonly known as Teflon. The high demand and limited availability of materials for additive manufacturing with very good mechanical properties, with particular emphasis on high abrasion resistance, led to the combination of the very good properties of PC and PTFE. Polycarbonate offers high mechanical resistance and PTFE supplements this by reducing wear and friction.
The modifications applied ensure the thermal stability of the printed parts, increase electrical insulation and chemical and water resistance. Its properties make the Filament Spectrum PC/PTFE a material with a wide range of industrial applications. Prints made from PC/PTFE filament can be processed by machine to produce a perfectly smooth surface. The use of this type of material makes it possible to produce parts with relatively complex geometry while maintaining relatively high dimensional accuracy.
The technically very attractive properties of the Filament Spectrum PC/PTFE can be achieved if the basic rules for the storage of this type of material are observed (in a dry and dark place with humidity below 15%). To achieve the best possible parameters of the printed object, it is recommended to dry the material before starting work.
