Description
The finishing touches make it possible – the already legendary Büssing Trambus radiates in bicolor design. And Wiking chose to do so the performance in sky blue/light ivory, which was popular at that time and used by many city transport companies. Once Wiking friends knew the Büssing Trambus only with fully glazed top. The Büssing Trambus was a bestseller with the start of the 1951 sale. This was mainly due to the fact that Wiking CEO Friedrich Peltzer gave the bus miniature a characteristic outstanding in the transport model program: The transparent roof section was used to simulate the glass that was otherwise missing for models in an attractive way – the viewer had a clear view of the interior. The model of the Büssing Trambus had already been presented at the Hanover Trade Fair in 1949. Especially noticeable: It had a under-floor diesel engine, which is also visible in the Wiking model with chassis on the underside of the bus body. No wonder that Büssing used the Wiking model as an advertising presence at the beginning of the 1950s with so much detail.
Body lower part sky blue, glazing upper part made of light ivory. Chassis with anthracite-gray axle holder, interior fittings, karmin-red. Steering wheel pearl white. Trilex rims light ivory. Büssing-spider with engravings and bumper front silver. Silver-plated engraving bars and wings on the side and at the rear. Rear light Crimson red. Anthracite gray for bus driver.
