Description

The DT-04 NXGEN is the consequent further development of TAMIYA Fighter Buggy models and THE beginner's buggy for next-generation racer!
Since 1996, Tamiya has set new standards for entry-level and the RC car scene with the Fighter Buggies.
The DT-04 is based on the proven Basi's of the DT-03 and has been revised at many places.
Thereby, NXGEN stands for "Next-Generation", i.e. the latest generation of Fighter WD buggies. Both technically and visually a lot is new in this model: The Opti k is based on the popular one-seater American racing buggies with 2 WD rear-wheel drive. TAMIYA uses this with already white colored plastic parts which makes it unnecessary to lacquer. From the kit, the model can be built in 2 color variants and the driver figure with helmet makes the Fighter a real eye-catcher!
Technically, the NXGEN offers a new 3-piece steering, hydraulic shock absorber, new axle carrier, 6-sided wheel mounts at the front and rear, new steering lever and much more!
The model can be built in 2 different wheel stands (265mm or 280mm). This is simply done by turning the front lower transverse links and the conversion of the steering. A short wheelbase makes the model agile on the racing track and the long wheelbase enables quiet ride.

Beginner-friendly DT-04 chassis - extremely robust

The distinctive body is made up of several plastic parts (colored white) which are connected to the pipe frame. A design, which is inspired by real racing buggies.
Lightweight and robust tub frame (chassis)
The chassis has an in-line battery position and an engine installed behind the rear axle. This gives the model a lot of traction.
The sealed gear has an in-built bevel gear differential for smooth cornering and keeps away dust and dirt.

The front control arms have a trailing angle of 22.5 degrees for excellent handling and performance on terrains.
Steering with 3 steering links makes the model very precise to drive
To change the battery, the roll cage can be folded backwards (quick-release fastener installed in front). The driver figure also serves as battery holder at the same time.
Grooved tires front and non-slip spike tires rear
Hexagonal wheel mounts on the front axle allow the attachment of different wheels.
The mounting positions of the rear shock absorbers and the rear upper arms can be changed.
The kit includes a decal sheet for constructing 2 different colors (red and blue)
Includes driver figure Use Tamiya Colors X, XF, LP (sold separately) to paint the driver figure.
Many separately available DT-02/DT-03 parts are compatible and offer numerous Opti ones for tuning
