Description
From 1960 to 1982 the DR shunting locomotives of the series V 60. Despite a good appreciation of the personnel and workshop, some improvements were made after the first series was delivered. The friction mass has been increased to 60 tons by installing a 5-ton ballast weight. Externally, the cab was changed the most conspicuous. It had the same width as the frame and was fitted with a sun shield. The improved design was delivered as V 60.12 from 1964, following the conversion of the number system in the DR as series 106.
