    Description

    In 1971, VEB Waggonbau Görlitz delivered two prototypes of the double-deck individual wagon to the DR. The double-deck single cars promised more flexible adjustments to changing passenger numbers as well as savings on damage. After extensive testing of the two prototypes, a first series of around 138 vehicles was delivered in 1974. The lower floor of these cars was fully equipped with seats. The operation took place first in the southern conurbations and routes with Hohem traffic volumes.
