Description

The universal screw is the absolute all-rounder in the range of SPAX. It can be screwed in almost everything – for example, completely without pre-drilling in coniferous wood like spruce and pine wood as well as in the common wooden material plates (MDF, chipboard and OSB boards). Our universal screw plays its superiority mainly in the interior fittings and furniture construction area, but also on the outside it can be used well with the appropriate corrosion protection. Due to its special thread geometry, the screw-in resistance is much lower than with conventional screws, WAS not only protects your power and nerves, but also protects the battery of the inserted screwdriver. Splining of the wood in the proximity of the edges is reliably prevented. This means you can turn more screws per battery charge, and you don't have to worry about broken wooden ends.

Information

The SPAX-typical T-STAR plus drive is a so-called Torx socket. This shape increases the attack surface in our T-STAR plus, and the T-STAR plus bits fit optimally in the screw head. The best possible power transfer from screwdriver to screw by T-STAR plus enables a fast working, and much more efficient than with all other drives.

The countersunk head (or flat head) milled itself with its polygons bottom ("pockets") a recess in the wood and therefore can be recessed without additional lowering of the screw hole. The countersunk head locks flush with the surface.

In contrast to the partial thread, the full thread extends over the entire length of the screw. The more threads a screw has, the greater the tensile and compressive forces that can be deflected from screw to wood via it. Our threaded screws are used mainly for high-strength wood joints.

The term 4CUT stands for the square shape of the screw tip. These edges supplant the wooden fibers during insertion and creates space for the core diameter of the screw. This reduces the spread pressure exerted by the Kern in the wood and prevents the wood from springing up close to the edges. The necessary torque of the cordless screwdriver is also reduced, because the Kern of the screw does not have to "squeeze" itself into the wood.

With WIROX, SPAX has developed a coating that is far superior to zinc plating in terms of corrosion protection. With WIROX no chrome (VI) is used, the screws can be loaded just as well after years in the not directly weathered external area as well as environmentally friendly. WIROX screws are the first choice for all open buildings without direct weathering such as carports or pergoles, for direct weather stresses as with terraces we recommend our screws in the stainless steel version.
