Coffee against wasps as a home remedy
Coffee is a proven home remedy against wasps. Coffee powder is available to everyone at home. To repel wasps, you have to light the coffee. Few households, however, have a suitable, fireproof container that protects the glimmering coffee from wind but still leaves enough air. That's exactly what Gardigo's wasp dude bowl is for. Through the holes in the lid of the smoking box, the smoke can escape and spread the coffee aroma to drive wasps away.
Drive wasps instead of killing
Wasps try to avoid the area where coffee smoke is visible. Thus, the insects can be driven away in a natural way. Drive away instead of kill - our environment will thank them, because wasps are useful and play an important role in our ecosystem as carnivores. They eat flies and mosquitoes, among other things.
Prevention of wasps
Everyone has experienced uncomfortable outdoor wasp situations. Whether you grill on the terrace or have coffee and cake at the garden table: The insects are attracted by the smells of meat or sweet foods and are then difficult to get rid of again. They can become a plague, especially in late summer. For allergy sufferers, a wasp bite can even be life-threatening. Hit after wasps does nothing, the insects react to it only aggressively. It is therefore better to prevent and drive away.
Coffee also as a home remedy for wasps circulation
Smoke signals wasps and many other insects at risk. Beekeepers make use of this, because bees react to smoke with preparations for escape from the beehive and are therefore so distracted that they no longer notice the beekeeper.
After use for the wasp defenses, the cold ashes can still be used as fertilizers in the garden. So nothing is wasted.
Application:
The wasp powder-scented coffee is set up on a heat-resistant surface or is hung on a hook using the accompanying wire bracket.
Remove the cover from the receptacle.
Put 10 g of commercially available, dry coffee powder (not included) into the bowl. Pour it to a cone.
Ignite the powder at the tip of the cone. To do this, the flame must be held until the coffee starts to glow. Depending on the wind situation, the powder has to be re-ignited from time to time. We recommend to light a lighter rod.
Close the lid. The smoke will escape through the holes.
Wait until the glow has finally gone out, or extinguish it with water, if you have to leave the product unattended.
Remove the cold ash from the container.
