Description
This transporter coined the Borgward era until the last day. Wiking presents the Lloyd LT from new forms and thus supplements the series of epoch-shaping vehicles of the economic miracle years. The LT fits seamlessly into the VW T1 and Ford FK 1000 series. The "big" Lloyd was built both as a bus and as a well-designed transporter – initially still planed with plywood, only in the second half of the fifties was steel sheet used at the Bremen production site. The motorization of the model was really modest during production times: From 1952 to 1955 the Lloyd LT 500 had a two-cylinder two-stroke engine with a displacement of 386 cm3 and a power of 13 hp, after which the identical Lloyd LT 600 was delivered with a two-cylinder four-stroke engine with a displacement of 596 cm3 and 19 hp. Until the Borgward bankruptcy in 1961, 9,900 Lloyd LT 500 and 14,768 LT 600 were built. Borgward Transporter thus complements the almost complete Wiking range of the post-war decade.
