Overview

The steering wheel remote control interface converts the OEM steering wheel control signals into signals from retrofit car radios, thus enabling the steering wheel remote control to be maintained. The 40-pin Quadlock connector supports integration with factory audio systems and simplifies plug-and-play installation into the original harnesses. Thanks to CAN bus compatibility the vehicle network communication is maintained, so that the functionality of integrated systems is ensured even after installation. Cross-model compatibility covers a large number of Audi and SEAT models and reduces the need for vehicle-specific adapters for audio upgrades.

Description

This car hi-fi connection connects the original vehicle wiring with new audio/navigation devices by mapping the OEM connections to a standardized quad-lock assignment. During installation, the adapter is connected to the vehicle's existing 40-pin Quadlock plug and forwards the steering wheel remote control and CAN bus signals to the new car radio so that the remote control can still be used. Typical applications include replacing the factory radio or integrating RNS-E and BNS navigation devices, where Audio 10/Audio 30 systems and 2 or 4-channel OEM sound systems continue to function. The device is intended for installation in compatible Audi and SEAT models, in which vehicle network communication and steering wheel remote control must remain intact.
