Overview

The steering wheel remote control interface adapts the OEM control signals to retrofit car radios and thus enables the steering wheel remote control to be retained after installation. The 40-pin quad-lock connection ensures direct electrical connection to the factory wiring harness, simplifies installation and reduces wiring effort. CAN bus compatibility maintains vehicle data communication for systems that require network integration and maintains signal quality. The support of 2-channel and 4-channel plant radio systems enables the connection to different original loudspeaker configurations without individual conversions.

Description

This car radio adapter translates the factory-made cables and control signals, so that retrofits or replacement devices are compatible with the original systems of the vehicle. It is connected between the vehicle harness and the car radio with 40-pin Quadlock interface, intercepts the steering wheel remote control signals and forwards them in the correct format. The device is compatible with CAN bus networks, if available, and thus enables the operation of radio or navigation device with the vehicle communication lines. The installation is usually easy: The adapter is connected to the OEM plug and to the corresponding retrofit socket. This restores functions such as radio, navigation and steering wheel remote control without changing the existing cabling. It is used to install compatible OEM devices or retrofit components in various Audi and SEAT models to maintain the original control and audio channel configurations.
