Overview

The steering wheel interface developed for OEM Business Professional units enables the maintenance of the factory steering wheel remote control when upgrading the car radio. The ISO-compatible plug enables the direct connection to vehicles without MOST audio networks and thus simplifies the integration with retrofit radios. The plug arrangement supports the installation in vehicles without iDrive and reduces the wiring. The vehicle-specific compatibility with a number of BMW and Mini models ensures correct pin assignment and easy installation in supported vehicles.

Description

This Hi-Fi adapter connects an upgrade radio with the factory-installed steering wheel remote control cabling in certain BMW and Mini models. It converts the signals of the steering wheel remote control into an ISO-compatible signal, which can be interpreted by the new car radio. It is intended for systems with the Business Professional OEM device that do not have a MOST fiber optic network. The installation is usually to connect the adapter to the vehicle harness and the radio ISO harness. The steering wheel remote control functions are retained without the need for iDrive integration. The device is used for retrofit when the steering wheel remote control is to be retained and the original audio system architecture is not MOST compatible. This allows technicians to perform a clean and reversible integration.
