Overview

The ISO interface for steering wheel remote controls enables the maintenance of the steering wheel keys when upgrading a car radio and thus simplifies the integration. The vehicle-specific plug geometry ensures a direct plug-and-play connection with the factory cabling and thus reduces the installation time. The compatibility with various OEM car radios enables a seamless communication between retrofit radios and the original control signals, whereby additional adapters are superfluous. The wide vehicle cover covers a wide range of passenger car and commercial vehicle models, so that a single adapter can be used for numerous installation scenarios.

Description

This car radio adapter is used to transmit steering wheel remote control signals between the vehicle wiring and retrofit audio devices. It is connected to the vehicle's existing wiring harness and offers an ISO-compatible interface for the retrofit car radio, whereby the signal forwarding of the factory operating elements is retained. During installation, the adapter is connected to the OEM wiring harness of certain Continental, UConnect and Daiichi radio systems so that the technician can easily connect the wiring harness without changing the vehicle wiring. The unit acts as an electrical interface and sends control signals for volume, title selection and call functions to the new car radio. It is intended for use in passenger cars and light commercial vehicles where the steering wheel remote control will continue to be used.
