Overview

The ISO adapter interface enables the conversion of the steering wheel remote control signal and thus the receiving of the original steering wheel remote control while installing retrofitted car radios. Electrical compatibility with the +12-volt ignition connectors ensures that the adapter is activated via the vehicle power supply, WAS simplifies integration and reduces installation steps. Designed for vehicles with certain original Ford radios, the adapter enables direct connection to the 5000C/6000CD/6006CD systems, eliminating the need for special cable harnesses. The vehicle-specific fit for different Ford models ensures the correct pin assignment and plug geometry, whereby the splitting of cables is avoided and the original cable harness guide remains intact.

Description

This car radio adapter converts the OEM steering wheel control signals into an ISO standard interface for connecting retrofit radios. It is connected to the vehicle wiring harness and the original radio connector, interprets the key inputs from the steering wheel and forwards them to compatible car radios. At the same time it receives the ignition plus via the +12V-connection, in order to control the switch on and off. The installation is usually easy: Disconnect the original radio connector, insert the adapter between the harness and the radio connector, and make the connections without changing the factory wiring. Designed for Ford vehicles with certain OEM radio models and without an integrated 7-inch color navigation system, the adapter is suitable for both professional installers and technically savvy DIY enthusiasts who require a plug-and-play steering wheel control interface.
