Overview

The CAN bus interface supports steering wheel remote controls and OEM display signals so that the factory button functions are retained after the radio exchange.
The vehicle-specific plug design ensures the direct compatibility with different Ford models and simplifies the installation without additional splices. The compatibility of the steering wheel remote adapter is provided with the OK and voice function keys for easy operation in the vehicle. The adapter converts the factory-set steering wheel outputs in standard ISO connections and thus enables the integration with retrofitted car radios.

Description

This car radio adapter converts CAN bus signals and steering wheel button signals into a format compatible with radios and ISO standard car radios. It is installed between the factory wiring harness and the new radio and maps steering wheel commands and OEM display data to the receiver's user interface. The unit translates the vehicle network messages and key presses so that functions such as the OK button and voice control continue to work. Typical applications are the replacement of the factory radio in Ford models while retaining the steering wheel remote control, the OEM display connection and the voice control. Thus the upgrade process is simplified without changing the original wiring harnesses.
