Overview

The category of steering wheel remote control adapters offers a direct interface for maintaining the factory steering wheel controls and thus simplifies the integration with retrofit car radios. The compatibility with the NTG2 and NTG2.5 navigation systems ensures signal coupling to the vehicle's audio/navigation bus and enables seamless transfer of the control. Designed for vehicles with MOST25 and Harman Kardon systems to maintain audio gateway connectivity and factory audio signal distribution. The design is suitable for 2-DIN Audio 50-APS-COMAND installations and allows easy installation in the existing wiring harness of the dashboard.

Description

This car radio connection serves as an interface between the factory Mercedes cabling and retrofitted audio/navigation systems. It forwards the control signals of the steering wheel remote control and integrates itself into the vehicle audio gateway. The control inputs for the COMAND systems NTG2/NTG2.5 and Audio 50 APS are compiled. The connector is integrated into the vehicle harness and receives the connections for the MOST25 and Harman Kardon OEM sound systems. This means that the steering wheel remote controls can still be used even after installation of a 2-DIN device. It is typically used in the replacement of a retrofit car radio in compatible Mercedes models when the original functions have to be retained.
