Overview

The steering wheel remote control interface is designed for direct integration into certain vehicle systems and allows the original steering wheel remote control to be retained when installing a retrofit audio system. The plug geometry corresponds to the OEM sockets for navigation and radio from the manufacturer, WAS simplifies the installation and reduces the splicing of cables. The compatibility with a large number of Siemens/VDO and Panasonic devices ensures simple signal transmission from the steering wheel buttons to many retrofit car radios. The vehicle-specific fit for the listed models allows for plug-and-play replacement, reducing installation time and the need for additional adapters.

Description

This car radio connection connects the factory-set steering wheel keys with retrofitted audio/navigation devices. It converts the steering wheel control signals of the vehicle into the input signal expected from compatible car radios. The connection is made via a direct-wired connector which is compatible with the OEM cable harnesses of Siemens/VDO and Panasonic. During installation, the plug is plugged into the vehicle harness or into the location of the OEM device. This retains the existing switch functions while allowing you to connect to third-party radios that can handle steering wheel button signals. Typical applications are the replacement of the factory radio in compatible Fiat, Opel and Suzuki models, whereby the steering wheel control with supported PACR series systems and Panasonic can continue to be used.
