Overview

Generation reduces configuration adjustments and shortens installation time on certain models. The compact plug geometry makes the inLine-positioning possible within the existing cable run and thus a clean cable management without making major changes at the cable harness.

Description

This car radio connection converts steering wheel control signals into a format that can be used by retrofit audio devices in vehicles with CAN bus networks. It is integrated into the vehicle wiring harness, intercepts the factory steering commands and converts them into compatible audio interface control signals while retaining the original remote control functions. Typically, it is used for retrofitting audio systems when the factory-installed steering wheel controls have to be maintained. The device is coupled to the vehicle wiring harness and communicates via the CAN bus to assign the key assignments to the new car radio. During the installation, special emphasis is placed on a clean plug connection and secure electrical contacts, in order to ensure a reliable signal transmission within the existing network architecture of the vehicle.
