Overview
The ISO adapter interface enables direct connection to the vehicle wiring harness, making it easy to install retrofit car radios. The steering wheel remote control function of the adapter receives the functionality of the original steering wheel remote control and thus enables the access to audio functions even after the car radio has been replaced. Description
This car radio connection is an ISO cable adapter for integration of retrofit audio systems in the factory cabling and steering remote control. It uses the vehicle's existing plug architecture to transmit power, speaker and control signals between the new car radio and the wiring harness. During installation, the adapter is connected to the vehicle harness and the ISO socket of the retrofit unit. This eliminates the need to separate individual cables and maintains the factory-set steering wheel remote control. Typical applications are the replacement of factory radios in compact and medium-sized cars, in which the steering wheel remote control and the navigation interfaces of the original manufacturer are to be maintained. The component acts as a passive interface, is compatible with certain radio families of the original manufacturer and simplifies the electrical connection in retrofit projects.
