Overview
The ISO plug assignment is matched to the steering wheel remote control circuits of the vehicle and thus enables you to retain the button functions when installing a retrofit car radio. A special adapter interface for RCD/RNS radios enables direct signal transmission between the vehicle bus and retrofit car radios for easy integration.
The plug-and-play cable harness format reduces the installation time and the risk of incorrect wiring and thus simplifies the retrofitting in compatible VW, Škoda and SEAT vehicles.
The vehicle-specific compatibility ensures the correct plug geometry and pin assignment for a variety of models and makes splicing or modifications unnecessary.
Description
This car radio connection converts steering wheel remote control signals into a format recognized by retrofit radios and is therefore suitable for retrofitting in certain VW, Škoda and SEAT vehicles. During installation, the wiring harness is connected to the vehicle's existing radio connections and leads the control cables to the new car radio, while retaining the functionality of the original buttons. The module adjusts the protocols used by various plant radios so that the steering wheel commands are interpreted correctly by compatible retrofit devices. This supports installation scenarios in which the vehicle either does not have an original radio or an original radio with additional adapter is used. Typical applications are upgrading to radios of the RCD and RNA families, whereby the steering wheel remote control can continue to be used without changing the wiring harness.
