Overview

The steering wheel remote control adapter format allows the steering wheel control elements to be retained when replacing the car radio, thus simplifying retrofitting. Compatibility with the MIB-PQ platform ensures the electrical interface for vehicles with this architecture and reduces integration effort. The system is designed for vehicles with Composition Audio MIB Entry units or without a factory-installed sound system and allows the connection of retrofit audio systems. Support for emergency and reverse drive configurations (in conjunction with the appropriate service adapters) ensures vehicle safety and camera functions are maintained during audio upgrades.

Description

This car radio connection serves as an interface between retrofit audio systems and the factory wiring harness for various SEAT, Škoda and VW models. It connects steering wheel remote controls and the vehicle's audio bus to new car radios by mapping the OEM signals to the MIB-PQ platform protocols. The installation is done by inserting the adapter into the original connection points and connecting any adapters needed for emergency call or rear-view camera circuits; a permanent rewiring is not necessary. The unit is suitable for vehicles with or without OEM sound system. Certain models with Composition Audio MIB Entry units may require additional adapters for full integration.
