Overview

The steering wheel remote control interface adapts the factory control signals to retrofit audio devices, thus enabling steering wheel remote control to be maintained when the radio is replaced. The compatible plug geometry corresponds to the OEM radio jacks of the Visteon Annel RO13-X07 and certain 1-DIN/2-DIN devices and simplifies plug-and-play installation. The vehicle-specific cabling supports different transport and passenger car models and reduces the effort required for adjusting the harness. Designed for use without factory-fitted navigation system, it enables easy integration with new car radios.

Description

This car radio adapter converts the cabling for steering wheel remote control and radio preparation of the vehicle in a format that is compatible with retrofitted car radios. It connects the factory radio harness to a 1-DIN or 2-DIN upgrade equipment and translates the steering wheel remote control signals so that the new car radio can process the button input. The installation is done by connecting the adapter with the vehicle's factory radio connector and the car radio harness. Where possible, splicing is not required. Typical applications are the replacement of factory radios in commercial vehicles and passenger cars that have been tested for compatibility, as well as the maintenance of the existing steering wheel remote control and radio preparation cabling when installing another audio device.
