Craftsmen are often confronted with the problem that they have to connect their power tools to sockets whose functional safety they cannot check. Faulty electrical installations (e.g. missing protective conductor or exchange of protective conductor and outer conductor) are usually not recognizable without a more detailed examination and are therefore particularly dangerous. Serious accidents can be the result. The PRCD-S+ from PCE reliably protects the user from faulty electrical installations.
When the PRCD-S+ is plugged into a socket with an unknown protective measure, an automatic routine test is performed. The PRCD-S+ can only be switched on if the socket is in a perfect and safe condition (signal unit flashes green). The signal unit then lights up permanently in green. Only now can the electrical load also be switched on.
After commissioning the electrical load, the PRCD-S+ serves as a residual current circuit breaker and thus protects the user against dangerous currents which can be caused by defective electrical equipment. In addition, the PRCD-S+ has an undervoltage release which prevents the consumer from switching on again automatically after a power failure.Characteristics
