    Fiber optic tester for fast and reliable testing of fiber optic connector surfaces.

    Contaminated fiber optic end surfaces are the most common causes of problems with singlemode and multimode fiber optic systems. The FI-500 FiberInspector™ Micro eliminates the difficulty of testing connector end faces, especially in low-light, high-density environments. It's very easy to use: Simply plug the cable into the FI-500 and touch the AF button. Within seconds, the connector end surface is clearly and sharply displayed. And if you have to work in very cramped conditions or cannot keep the image steady, simply touch the Pause button to freeze the image.

    Exactly right for troubleshooting
    The tightly packed fiberglass patch panels make the exams a challenge. It can be difficult to locate the cable or port to be tested, especially in the dark conditions found in most data centers and wiring cabinets today.

    The FI-500 simplifies the testing process. Integrated PortBright lighting helps you find the right port or cable. The narrow probe fits into tight spaces and has push buttons for easy operation. Autofocus gives you a clear view of the end face in less than a second, while the pause button freezes the image on the sharp 320 x 240 display for more accurate examination.
    The FI-500 FiberInspector Micro fills the gap between a manual probe and a fully automatic test probe. The FI-500 has the simplicity and practicality of a manual inspection camera, but also has the advanced features that shorten troubleshooting and inspection time.

    Manual inspection cameras are easy to use, but they do not work very well with patch panels or in situations where the glass fibers have a high density. If you hold it to one eye and close the other, it is often uncomfortable or impractical, especially in a dark room. Fully automated inspection cameras analyze and evaluate the cleanliness of fiber optic connections, which is important for many applications, but analysis is usually not required for quick, basic troubleshooting.
