Description
The CAN@net NT is offered as CAN@net NT 200 with two classical CAN channels, the devices have three operating modes and can be used as PC interface as well as as bridge and gateway.
Functional principle
Can/CAN FD Ethernet Gateway
In gateway mode, the CAN@net NT can be accessed by different operating systems (e.g. Windows, Linux, VxWorks or QNX) and from embedded systems. This is done via a standard TCP/IP socket and a simple ASCII protocol. The CAN@net NT thus provides a simple and flexible access to CAN systems via a LAN or via the Internet as a CAN Ethernet gateway.
PC interface
The VCI driver for Windows included in the delivery allows the CAN@net NT to be operated like all IXXAT CAN PC interface cards. With the CAN@net NT, all VCI-based IXXAT tools, such as the canAnalyzer, can be used, but also customer-specific applications,
Created on the basis of the VCI driver. The VCI CAN driver offers the possibility to communicate with up to 128 CAN@net NT simultaneously.
Can Ethernet CAN Bridge
Using two CAN@net NT 200, a CAN Ethernet CAN bridge can be realized, which connects up to 2 independant CAN channels per device. The bridge enables the exchange of CAN messages between CAN systems via TCP/IP over long distances – using existing Ethernet infrastructures. The segmentation of CAN systems also increases the reliability and reliability of the overall system.
Mapping tables provide a highly flexible way to configure message exchange between all channels. Filter and implementation rules can be applied to the CAN messages. This can reduce the bus load on each network, since only messages that are of interest to the other network are transmitted. Configuration and firmware update.
The configuration of the new CAN@net NT and the firmware upload is done via an intuitive Windows configuration tool – via USB or Ethernet. The tool makes it very easy to configure filter, mapping, multiplexer or translation rules without any programming knowledge.
