Description

This device allows easy coupling of networks, including those with different bit rates or frame formats (11/29-Bit-Identifier). The Bridges/routers have a powerful micro-controller, which messages filtering, ID implementation and data multiplexing even in bursts and high data rates without message loss.

Functional principle
In contrast to a CAN-Repeater, only the electrical signals translated, the bridge/router the news completely received and then, taking into account the filter, implementation, mapping and multiplex rules in the respective other network sent (Store forward principle). With the help of mapping tables is the exchange of information between all four networks.

With the help of filter and implementation rules can CAN messages filtered or modified. This allows the bus load in the individual networks can be reduced, since only messages will be relayed to the other network is of interest.
