The LINDY 4K Displayport adapter cable is for use with modern notebooks, PCs and other devices with Mini Displayport output. It converts the signals of the mDP in HDMI-signals, which your devices with HDMI input socket, e.g., flat screen tv, AV-Receiver or projector.
The audio output is supported only if the graphics card of the computer supports it. Various on-board display port graphics adapter, for example, Mobile Intel 4 Series Express Chipset in Notebooks (e.g., Dell E6400) as well as corresponding versions on desktop computers support the audio output via the display port to supply, even when the HDMI-support (Intel High Definition Audio HDMI service) in the audio controller settings has been set up.
