Description

The Teensy 4.0 is the latest addition to the Teensy family, which offers the fastest microcontroller and high-performance peripherals in the Teensy 1.4 x 0.7 inch form factor.
It features an ARM Cortex-M7 processor with 600MHz, with an NXP iMXRT1062 chip, the fastest microcontroller available today.
The design of the previous teens' models has been adopted in the same way as the compatibility.
In operation at 600 MHz, the Teensy 4.0 consumes approx. 100mA power. Teensy 4.0 provides support for dynamic clock scaling. Unlike other microcontrollers, where clock speed changes cause incorrect baud rates and other problems, Teensy 4.0 hardware and Teensyduino's software support for Arduino timing functions are designed to allow dynamic speed changes. Serial baud rates, audio streaming samplerates and Arduino functions such as delay() and Millis() as well as Teensyduino extensions such as IntervalTimer and elapsedMillis work correctly even when the CPU changes the speed. Teensy 4.0 also provides a power off feature. By connecting a push button to the on/off pin, the 3.3V supply can be completely switched off by holding the button for 5 seconds and switched on again by briefly pressing the button. If a button cell is connected to VBAT, the RTC of Teensy 4.0 will still keep an eye on the date and time even when the device is switched off.
