Used in front of passenger and goods trains to German and Austrian border stations.Description
Diesel locomotive series T 478.3 of the Czechoslovak State Railways.
The so-called diving goggles or eyeglasses were developed and built at CKD in Prague. The first prototypes of the T 478.3 diesel locomotive series were created in 1968. With the strange design of the window front, the visibility conditions for the locomotive drivers should be improved, especially when coupling. Together with the engine room windows reminiscent of portholes, another reason for the German nickname diving goggles. Keywords
