The UPS-mini provides an uninterrupted power supply for all vehicle decoders with connection for a support capacitor or a buffer circuit – with completely automatic control. It is connected directly to the connection for a "normal" support capacitor and optionally connected to a free switching output (in order to be able to switch the UPS on and off if required) or to the special output for buffer circuits. When the system is switched on, the UPS-mini limits the charging current for the super-cap to 100 mA. In addition, the UPS "monitors" the track voltage and interrupts the charging of the super-cap as soon as the existing track voltage falls below 12 V. When programming the decoder on the main track, the UPS-mini is automatically switched off, provided the control line is connected to a decoder output or the UPS-mini is connected to the special output for buffer circuits.
Tips: If the central unit sends the locomotive gear 0, the track voltage is still present – so there is no reason for the UPS mini to "intervene". The locomotive therefore stops exactly in front of a signal as without UPS-mini. For holding sections in which the track voltage is completely switched off, the packet time out should be defined at the vehicle decoder by setting the value to ensure an exact signal stop.
