Description
The Portenta H7 has two parallel cores and simultaneously executes high-level code along with real-time tasks.
The main processor of the H7 is the dual-core STM32H747 with a Cortex® M7 running at 480 MHz and a Cortex® M4 running at 240 MHz. The two cores communicate via a remote procedure call mechanism that allows seamless calling of functions on the other processor.
Both processors share the entire in-chip peripherals and can run:
Arduino Sketches on the Arm® mbed™ OS
Native mbed™ applications
MicroPython / JavaScript via an interpreter
TensorFlow™ Lite
The onboard wireless module allows simultaneous management of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth® connectivity. The WiFi interface can be operated as an access point, as a station or as a dual-mode simultaneous AP/STA and creates up to 65 Mbps transmission rate. The Bluetooth® interface supports Bluetooth Classic and BLE.
The Portenta H7 follows the Arduino MKR form factor, but is extended with the 80-pin high-density port of the Portenta family. The Portenta family adds two 80-pin high-density connectors to the bottom of the board. This ensures scalability for a wide range of applications by simply upgrading your Portenta board to the right version for you.
Use Portenta when performance is critical:
- High-end industrial machines
- Laboratory equipment
- Computer vision
- PLCs
- Industrial user interfaces
- Robotics control
- mission-critical devices
- dedicated stationary computer
- High-speed boat bill (ms)
