The Mercedes-Benz 300 SL is a classic sports car that complements the Tamiya sports car series in a scale of 1:24. The original vehicle was originally produced as a prototype for the in-house racing team, in order to participate in national races and championships. In 1954, a series vehicle debuted at the International Automobile Exhibition in New York.
Despite its "road car status," the 300 SL was a raciar and elegant vehicle that was very popular in the United States and was very popular. It has a 3-liter series 6-cylinder engine - hence the "300" in its name, an extremely light body - SL stands for "sport light" or "light sport" and the distinctive wing doors. Until the end of production in May 1957, 1,400 units were produced.
The Tamiya kit reflects all the details: The complex lattice frame, the distinctive wing doors and many more – thus the model is in no way inferior to the original.
The timeless elegant shape of this classic is breathtakingly captured and converted by the model. The bonnet and wing doors can be opened. The doors can be locked in the open position with a small strut.
