The CAMTEC ESB101 series are low-cost, second-generation inrush current limiters. The delimiters are designed for 115/230VAC 16A networks. The permissible line frequency is 16⅓Hz – 440Hz. The ESB101 limiters are switched between the mains switch/contactor and the consumer. The ESB type series is approved for use on capacitive loads. At the moment of switching on, the inrush current caused by the connected consumers is limited for the defined time tone. It does not matter how high the actual starting current is. The limit is always strictly applied. After the time has elapsed, the current limitation in the ESB101 is bypassed. The consumer is now directly connected to the mains. As usual, the line supply can be loaded with short-term peak currents (e.g. motors, pumps). If a power failure is longer than the defined time, the ESB101 recognizes this. If the mains returns, the inrush current limitation is repeated. The device is temperature-monitored internally. In the event of a fault, the device switches off so that permanent overheating or a fire is effectively suppressed.
