Description

The TL-SG1008P 8-port Gigabit desktop PoE switch provides a seamless network connection. It combines Fast Ethernet with Gigabit Ethernet network capabilities.


How this product works
4 of the 8 auto tuning RJ45 ports (ports 1 to 4) on the switch support Power over Ethernet (PoE). These PoE ports can automatically detect PoE devices and power IEEE802.3af powered devices (PDs). In this situation, the electrical current is transported together with the data in a single cable. The device makes it possible to expand your network where there are no power lines or sockets and where you want to operate devices like access points, IP cameras or IP phones etc.


behavior in case of overload
The TL-SG1008P has a priority* function that helps to protect the system when system performance is overloaded. If the total power consumption of the PoE-PDs is greater than or equal to 53W, priorities are assigned among the PoE ports. The system then decides on the power distribution and will switch off the power supply at the port with the lowest priority.


Port priority function
Port priority: This function is designed to protect the system when PoE power is overloaded. For example, if ports 1, 2 and 4 each use 15.4W (maximum power per port 15.4W), the total power is 46.2W (the PoE max LED is red). If an additional 10W PD is connected to port 3, the system will switch off port 4 to prevent damage to the device. This means that 15.4W can be consumed at ports 1 and 2 and 10W at port 3. No power is delivered to port 4.
