Description

The MC200CM is a media converter designed to convert 1000BASE-SX fiber media to 1000Base-T copper media or vice versa. The MC200CM has been designed according to the IEEE802.3ab 1000Base-T standard and the IEEE802.3z 1000Base-SX standard and is intended for use with multimode fiber optic cables and the SC connector. The MC200CM supports the short-wave (SX) laser specification at a full bandwidth forwarding rate. It works at 850nm both when sending and receiving data. Other features of the module include: the ability to use the device as a stand-alone device (no enclosure required) or with TP-LINK's 19-inch system enclosure, Auto-MDI/MDIX for the transmit port and status LED on the front panel. The MC200CM transmits to a distance of 550m in Fibre Optic Long Distance mode using the multimode fibre optic cable.
