The MC220L is a media converter designed to convert 1000BASE-SX/LX/LH fiber media to 1000Base-T copper media or vice versa. The MC220L has been designed according to the IEEE802.3ab 1000Base-T standard and the IEEE802.3z 1000Base-SX/LX/LH standard and is intended for use with multimode/single-mode fiber optic cables and the SC/LC connector. It works at 850nm for both transmitting and receiving data when using multimode fiber and 1310nm for both transmitting and receiving data when using a single-mode fiber. Other features of the module include: the ability to use the device as a stand-alone device (no enclosure required) or with TP-LINK's 19-inch system enclosure, Auto-MDI/MDIX for the transmit port and status LED on the front panel. The MC220L transmits in Fibre Optic Long Distance mode to a distance of 550m using the multimode fibre cable and to a distance of 10km using a single mode fibre cable.
