The fieldbus node NA9187 as slave establishes the connection between the FnIO system and the PROFINET fieldbus.
The I/O modules used are automatically recognized and the fieldbus node creates a local process image. The sequence of the analog expansion modules (data exchange word by word) and digital expansion modules (data exchange bit by bit) is arbitrary and can be mixed. The internal process image of the NA9197 fieldbus node is stored in the memory of the responsible controller via the PROFINET fieldbus. By subdividing the process image into an input and output data area, the process data is read in via PROFINET, processed further in a controller and the process output data output via PROFINET.
The automatically generated process image is created at its slots in the order of the expansion modules.
If the number of digital I/Os exceeds 8 bits, another byte is started by the fieldbus node.
The bits of the digital expansion modules are combined to bytes and attached to the analog data. If the number of digital I/Os exceeds 8 bits, another byte is started by the fieldbus node.
