COMPREHENSIVE CONTROL
The zoom iQ7 has advanced features that allow you to create extraordinary stereo recordings at any time. A large MIC GAIN control, mounted on the front side, allows you to quickly and easily set an optimum input level, while the 3-segment LED metering display shows this visually.
In addition, there is a headphone output, which can also be used as line output, and it allows you to listen to the audio signals directly. This works either when recording or when playing back the recording.
ENHANCED COMPATIBILITY
The iQ7 is compatible with all Lightning iOS devices. It has an extended Lightning connector and a removable spacer, so that it is also compatible with most available iPhone, iPad and iPod cases. So you can leave the case around the iOS device as protection and start shooting.
PERFECT LEFT-RIGHT ALIGNMENT - ANY TIME
The rotation mechanism of the iQ7 allows a correct left-right stereo alignment, regardless of whether you only create audio recordings or video recordings.
CENTER-SIDE RECORDINGS
Center-side is a professional recording technique that allows the stereo width to be adjusted. The two microphone elements of the iQ7 consist of a directional center microphone, which records the audio signal directly in front of the iOS device, as well as a bi-directional side microphone, which captures the sound sources from both sides.
A three-way switch allows you to switch between 90 degrees (to focus on the center signal) and 120 degrees (for another recording radius and more room and ambient proportions). The third setting, labeled "M-S", allows you to record the raw audio material, and then adjust the stereo width. To do this, simply use Zoom's free mobile recorder iOS app.
THE ZOOM MOBILE RECORDER APP
Zoom's Mobile Recorder app, available free of charge from the iTunes app store, provides numerous features for using the iQ7 with an iOS device. Choose between linear PCM format for the highest quality or AAC format to save memory space. You can then add compression, equalizer, and reverb effects to your recordings. The Mobile recorder app also allows you to send the recordings to friends via email or upload them to SoundCloud.
EXPAND YOUR CREATIVITY
The iQ7 is compatible with most iOS apps that support input signals from an external microphone. These include Apple's Voice Memo and GarageBand, as well as many other popular music recording, speech recognition and streaming apps. Apps that allow the use of different sampling rates - like the Mobile Recorder app - are also compatible and allow the selection between 44.1 and 48 kHz recordings for the best possible audio quality.kHz.
