If used, cables that are already laid and still to be laid can be measured with the network tester. The network tester can be used to determine cable lengths of up to three kilometers. This is done by a time-range reflectometer. At the network tester itself, 20 standard types of cables are pre-stored and a further storage of up to 99 cable types is also possible at the device itself. The stored data can be viewed directly on the device and can thus be used as desired. Due to the installed technology, comparatively short cables can already be tested. The minimum length of a cable to be tested with the network tester is five meters. In order to increase the battery life, the device is automatically switched off after an inactivity period of 10 minutes by default. This automatic switch-off can be individually adjusted by the user at intervals of 10 minutes. In addition to the automatic switch-off, the device also offers a bright TFT display, which makes a quick reading of the measurement results also possible comfortably owing to its background lighting.
