The Wireless AC1200 Dual-Band Access Point DAP-1665 is a versatile and quickly deployable solution to extend an existing LAN with Wireless AC or improve the range of an existing WLAN.
With the state-of-the-art 802.11ac technology, which enables a transmission speed of up to 1200 Mbps1, you can establish a powerful wireless connection between two networks or quickly exchange large files between computers via WLAN.
LAN and WLAN with maximum speed
The DAP-1665 supports the latest WLAN standard 802.11ac, which achieves a combined transmission speed of up to 1200 Mbps1 on both frequency bands.
This gives you 300 Mbps in the 2.4 GHz band for surfing the net, for e-mail or chatting, while the low-interference 5 GHz band can be used in parallel for bridging or file transfers.The Gigabit LAN connection enables a wired transmission speed of up to 1000 Mbit/s.
So Gigabit LAN devices can also benefit from the high performance of Wireless AC.
Many operating modes
The DAP-1665 can be operated in different modes and adapts flexibly to your requirements.In Access Point mode, the device acts as a central connection point for all wireless devices that gain access to an existing LAN in this way.
In Client mode, the DAP-1665 connects to another access point, allowing a wired device such as a game console or Smart TV to have wireless Internet access.Bridge mode allows you to establish a fast wireless connection between two wired LANs without laying additional cables.
Bridge mode with access point connects the functions of wireless bridge and access point so that WLAN clients can access both networks.The DAP-1665 supports 64/128-bit WEP encryption and WPA/WPA2 to protect the network and wireless traffic.The device also supports Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) for fast and secure setup of a secure WLAN.
In addition, access to the network can be controlled via MAC address filtering and the visibility of the network to outsiders can be restricted by deactivating SSID transmission.
For theft protection, the DAP-1665 is equipped with a port for a Kensington lock.
